This position requires a skilled technician to perform mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of coach buses. Technicians will be responsible for diagnosing problems, performing standard mechanical repairs, and working independently or as part of a team on various repair projects.
ResponsibilitiesDiagnose problems and perform standard mechanical repairs on customer equipment, including emergency vehicle trucks and related components.Troubleshoot and repair systems and components such as transmissions, engines, fire pumps, multiplex systems, ladders, suspensions, and engine subassemblies.Work from shop orders, specifications, manuals, schematics, prints, and instructions.Review shop orders, change orders, and other order-related documents to determine requirements.Diagnose and repair a variety of systems, including aerial devices, fire pump systems, steering systems, braking systems, suspensions, charging and cranking systems, drive trains, and electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and MVAC systems.Troubleshoot basic engine and transmission problems with a focus on interfacing with related vehicle systems.Test components to ensure they meet all applicable and required standards.Identify and locate defective parts, remove and replace them, and make necessary adjustments.Conduct stationary tests to verify that the product meets specifications and quality standards.Essential SkillsElectrical and air conditioning experience.Automotive repair and service skills.Mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.Experience with diesel engines is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious auto experience.Ability to work from technical manuals and schematics.Capability to perform both minor and complex mechanical repairs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00
