The Vehicle Motion Controls Software Engineer position involves the design, implementation, and validation of vehicle motion controls software spanning multiple domains including electric AWD (eAWD), regen/friction coordination, torque vectoring, and traction control. 

You'll have…

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education5 years of experience in developing, testing and debugging embedded systems software  5+ years of experience in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow  5+ years of experience in modeling, simulation and testing  5+ years of experience in Model Based Design, C language and embedded software 

 

Even better, you may have… 

MS or PhD with a focus on controls systems Strong foundation in controls system theory and principles Strong foundation in vehicle dynamics principlesProficient in rapid prototyping tools and environments such as dSpace, MicroAutoBox  Proficient in version control and source code management tools such as GitHub Working knowledge with in-vehicle calibration development tools (ATI Vision, ETAS Inca, etc.)  Familiarity with Agile/SAFe tools and processes  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications  Experience with requirements and test case management tools such as Jama Experience with AUTOSAR and service-oriented architecture Experience working with diverse teams and across organizational boundaries to accomplish complex tasks  Strong written and oral communication skills  Outstanding interpersonal skills 

Note: This role may require seasonal travel for in-vehicle testing and validation

What you'll do…

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:  

Develop, implement, and validate controls and software for current and next generation vehicle motion control technologies such as eAWD, front and rear electric drive torque vectoring, driveline disconnect devices, regenerative braking, and traction control Develop, capture, and maintain systems and software requirements Create and/or maintain control feature documentation and calibration guides  Design control systems to meet functional, regulatory, safety, and functional safety (ISO 26262) requirements  Implement control system design in a model-based environment and C language  Conduct detailed validation simulations and testing of control system models and generated code at unit and system level Lead control system implementation planning to meet functional, cost, quality, and timing objectives  Troubleshoot vehicle/powertrain functional issues; determine and validate corrective actions and preventative measures
