Vehicle Storage Clerk
Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Outdoor Recreation Center, Fairchild AFB, WA. This position is located at the 92 Force Support Squadron, Outdoor Recreation Center. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee operation, custody and maintenance of the Vehicle Storage Facility. This is a Regular Full time position; guaranteed 35-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility. Responsibilities Responsible for the administration, safe operation, custody and maintenance of the Vehicle Storage Lots and/or Personal Facility and associated equipment. Provides customer service and handles patron inquiries. Systematically and strategically assign customer storage spaces according to size of storage item and security preferences of the customer. Validate customers have proper registration and insurance documents prior to assigning spaces in the storage lot. Coordinate payments by following payment card industry (PCI) standards, must collect pertinent recurring charge information, upload to online recurring charge system, and secure/protect customer personally identifying information (PII). Initiate and follow through with collections of declined credit card charges and coordinate with customers to update expired/invalid payment or space documentation. Manages operating expenses and cashflow from the operations. Works with Outdoor Recreation Director on annual budget estimates and justification for expenditures. Works with installation, State agencies, and local companies for the disposition/disposal of abandoned vehicles. Prepares all safety and accident, injury and/or illness reports for submission to Outdoor Recreation Director and follow procedures to mitigate safety and/or security issues. To ensure patron safety, will inspect facilities on a routine basis and prior to patron usage. Responsible for overall cleanliness of facilities. Evaluates on a continuing basis the overall program and submit recommendations to the Outdoor Recreation Director. Ensures proactive promotion of facilities. Incumbent must be able to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Experience in storage practices and procedures, clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Progressively responsible experience in clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items, (2) use of cash accountability control methods, and (3) customer personally identifying information (PII). Knowledge of wide range of concepts, principles, and practices relating to the administration and development of Vehicle & Personal Storage Programs. Must possess or be able to attain and maintain certification in Payment Card Industries (PCI) Awareness Training. Ability and skill to market a Vehicle and Personal Storage program. Knowledge in recreation, business or other related areas. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain financial records and budget. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
