Role Summary Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking an experienced and driven technician to join the Systems Test & Integration department in their chassis dynamometer lab. The Vehicle Test Automation Technician will be responsible for supporting daily test operations, keeping testing on schedule, and maintaining up-time of test equipment and vehicles. This role requires collaboration with other internal teams at Rivian and a passion to continually improve and advance our testing capabilities. This position will be based in Torrance, CA. Responsibilities Supervise the operation of automated vehicle testing on chassis dynamometers Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of test equipment and test vehicles Perform testing in accordance to schedule Identify process improvements for increased operational efficiency Work alongside engineers to support the implementation of new testing capabilities into our existing test platform Assist engineering teams in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues with test equipment and test vehicles Maintain an organized lab space (5S methodology) Qualifications 5+ years of experience working as an automotive technician, preferably with EV experience Knowledge of chassis or engine dynamometers systems. Previous experience operating this equipment is a plus Basic understanding of vehicle software and electrical architecture CAN/LIN network understanding Strong understanding electrical and mechanical components in an automotive context Ability to apply creative and critical thinking to solve problems and deliver exceptional results Computer proficiency and open mind to learning new software tools Good team player with excellent communication skills Flexibility to commute to other nearby Rivian facilities in the SoCal area on occasion (5 - 10% of the time) Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $85,600 - $107,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
