Position Summary:
The position of the Vendor Manager is responsible for providing support to the Vendor Management department through daily assistance with linguist recruitment and testing, database maintenance and daily support to sales and production teams with vendor-related issues and questions.
 

Position responsibilities:

Provide on-the-job support to the Vendor Management teamProactively recruit new resources to expand the company’s database of external linguistsTest recruited linguists according to specialized skill sets and the company’s testing processNegotiate preferred rates with recruited linguists according to company, department or project needsPromote newly recruited and tested linguists to the appropriate production teamsAssist production and sales teams on a daily basis with vendor-related issues and questionsEstablish and maintain excellent relationships with contract translators, proofreaders, production staff and internal Quality Managers globallyStrategize with direct manager to find a viable means of making processes more efficientAttend trade shows and conferences as neededProactively seek additional tasks and duties to benefit TransPerfect Translations as a wholeResearch and understand all industries that TransPerfect Translations markets to, including industry leaders, current events and any other pertinent dataBe knowledgeable in the translation industry, including leaders, competitive data, proposal formats, competitive rates, and marketing strategies

Essential skills and experience required:
