Job Title:    Vendor Operations & Logistics Support Lead                

Location:  Cross Dock - 8000 Dixon Drive, Florence, KY

Department:  Supply Chain                                                 

Position Summary: The Vendor Operations & Logistics Support Lead will be responsible for maintaining and improving the current supply chain and distribution network to service Wawa stores. In addition, this role will manage the Fresh Channel daily operations. This includes, but is not limited to providing input in developing and optimizing the current supply chain channels to continue servicing and expanding our brand in this aggressively growing market. Coordinate vendor performance, logistics execution, and operational support in a distribution/warehouse environment. This position must ensure Wawa’s high-quality standards are met and that production and transportation vendor partners consistently achieve the daily production and load-out requirements based upon the defined service level agreements.

Principal Duties

•           Oversee the daily execution of product distribution and logistics through the cross dock and/or third-party distributor network, as well as perform issue identification and resolution.  Work with our transportation partners to achieve on time and accurate delivery in accordance with Wawa service agreements.

•           Manage partner performance against contracts and SLA’s and performance metrics.  Work with partners and escalate issues that need to be addressed with the vendors. Verify all critical contracted activities are meeting targets. Document and correct off-standard performance.

•           Work with QA to ensure quality standards are met for all products.

•           Work cross-functionally across internal and external leadership teams to manage and resolve escalated day to day issues regarding the daily execution of manufacturing vendor partners.

•           Assist in driving Supply Chain cost reductions by developing and managing operational efficiency and improvement projects.

Identify opportunities in the supply chain for increased velocity, work simplification and improved execution. Identify, develop, and execute process changes with vendors to maximize cost savings.  Provide insight on industry best practices in information processing, warehousing, material handling and transportation.

•           Support leadership in the development of annual capacity models of key production and logistic partners.

Act as a critical crisis management resource within supply chain to gain information, make decisions and ensure proper communication is maintained between the production vendors and Wawa.Support invoice reconciliation and ticket resolution in accordance with Wawa standards.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferredMinimum 4-6 years of experience with manufacturing, logistics and distribution operationsProficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Visio)Wawa Store Operations and vendor management experience a plusThis person will be working full time out of our Cross Dock - Bakery Express - 8000 Dixon Drive, Florence, KY
