Job Description

  

Order Expediting is a key role within the Supply Chain organisation. The role will also require close working with other key departments within the Operations Division, to ensure the timely placement of purchase requirement for all production needs as recommended by the ERP system.

The role also requires continual communication with the vendors to ensure goods are supplied to meet the requirements of the Production departments, to ensure the timely completion of product for customer sales orders.

Main Responsibilities

The placing of purchase orders as recommended by ERP system, to ensure the timely arrival of all raw materials, components and bought in sub-assemblies to meet the requirements of the various production departments. Order placement must take into account the ordering policies as directed by the Purchasing Department, and inventory practices

Managing the expedite process for Space Imaging Project materials. Develop process with Procurement for the alignment of incoming material receipts

The weekly management of the open purchase order book, to ensure ordered items arrive in accordance with the required dates as specified by the ERP system. This includes advising colleagues in the Supply Chain Department of any variations to the delivery requirements and escalating any issues having an adverse impact on the weekly Production Plan

Ensure any order acknowledgements received for e2v purchase orders fully comply with the Company and purchase order requirements

Monitoring of Urgent Issues and Critical Materials to ensure Purchasing Department and maintaining the correct priorities

Regularly review static data for purchased items to monitor replenishment criteria including

Replenishment method and frequencyPIR and lead-times

Assisting Logistics in the resolution of any issues arising from the delivery of items from vendors, this includes quantity differences

Liaison with Accounts Payable to resolve any issues affecting the timely submission for payment of vendor invoices

To visit the vendors to discuss delivery performance and capacity requirements in a short to medium term window.

To attend Supply Reviews and MPS meetings so that the business requirements going forward can be understood.

Essential Experience

Familiar with ERP systems preferably SAP and competent user of Microsoft Office.

Must be able to communicate at all levels both written and orally.

Used to working to deadlines and able to prioritise workload when under pressure
