Job Summary
This team member will be responsible for working with multiple vendors along multiple lines of business that contract, wish to contract or do business with Novant Health by developing effective working relationships. This position will monitor the performance, compliance and risk of vendors. He or she will work closely with Strategic Sourcing and be involved in all phases of the category management process. In addition, the Vendor Management Specialist will be responsible for managing the contract repository for all Strategic Sourcing contracts and tasks related thereto. The Vendor Management Specialist will provide clear communication on the expectations and guidelines associated with vendor management to internal stakeholders. He/she will ensure that incumbent vendors are following Novant Health’s policies and procedures, properly being vetted and meeting or exceeding contractual obligations. It will also report out on and monitor Vendor performance through a Vendor scorecard, provide recommendations for improvement and develop an action plan that renders positive and measurable results for both the Vendor and Novant Health. In addition to managing incumbent vendors, this team member will be responsible for vetting new vendors to insure they meet Novant Health’s requirements and the criteria established for risk mitigation/compliance. A successful Vendor Management Specialist is dedicated to exceeding expectations, building strong, truthful, long term relationships that will render success for both internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications
+ Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required.
+ Experience: Minimum two years vendor management, sourcing, risk or compliance, required.
+ Additional Skills (required): A high level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access). Comfortable using various software packages. Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Acute attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent presentation, reporting and organization skills. Strong analytical skills. Critical thinker and problem solver. Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision. Effective decision maker with ability to exercise independent judgement in a wide range of scenarios. Ability to manage challenging relationships (internal and external) and drive results using available resources. Responds to requests and resolves in a timely manner. Ability to write procedure manuals/training documentation/flow charts and assist management with the coaching, training and development of the team. Commitment to quality. Ability to work under pressure in achieving tight deadlines. Supports the development of a Vendor Management Program and its success. Working knowledge of contract terminology and basic contracting processes. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
