Role Objective: An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and dynamic Venue Manager to lead operations at the brand-new Waikato Regional Theatre in Hamilton, New Zealand . As a key member of our NZ Venue division, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the venue's management, including strategic planning, financial performance, and operational excellence. This role requires fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, managing a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional patron experiences. Key Responsibilities: + Venue Operations: Manage all aspects of the venue’s daily operations, ensuring events are commercially maximised and compliant with statutory requirements. + Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a cohesive team, including permanent staff, casual event workers, and contractors. + Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners and sponsors. + Financial Management: Develop and oversee budgets, monitor financial performance, and produce timely financial reports. + Health & Safety: Chair the Health & Safety Committee and ensure compliance with all licensing and safety regulations. + Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement annual business and operational plans. + Food & Beverage: Oversee all food and beverage operations to ensure quality and profitability. + Asset Management: Ensure the venue’s systems, facilities, and assets are maintained to a high standard. Required Skills and Experience: + Extensive experience in venue management within the live entertainment industry. + Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse teams. + Expertise in financial management, including budgeting and reporting. + Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and licensing requirements. + Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and community partners. + Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail. + Familiarity with the technical aspects of live entertainment and a proven track record of working with promoters.
