THE JOB A Party Captain will work side-by-side with the Director of Special Events to assist with the execution of all Special Event. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO I. Essential Functions + One Party Captain will be assigned to each Special Event on an as-needed basis. + Participates in meeting with LM, MOD, Sales Manager and Chef to review all event details prior to an event (pre-shift). + Works with LM to oversee set up of all events (completed 30 minutes prior to doors opening). + Responsible for buffet replenishing, bussing, and timing of all plated events and adhering to outlined times on each SEO. + Oversees equipment needs and concerns on the night of the event. + Maintains inventory of food in hot boxes and in kitchen to fulfill SEO requirements. + Serves as a point of contact for the client or client representative. + Assigns side work and closing duties to all event team members. + Always maintains an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere during an event. + Performs final walk through at the end of the evening with LM or MOD. + Completes Party Captain recap at the end of the night and files all buffet / menu cards in the sales office. + Fills out raffle tickets for staff incentive prizes. II. Staff Functions + Liaison between Party Staff and Logistics Manager throughout an event. + Ensures party staff is following company policies (no tip jars, no phones visible during an event, filling out staff sign-in sheets or TCAs as needed, etc.). + Distributes and completes all staff sign-in sheets. + Communicates staffing needs to LM throughout an event. + Assists LM with managing break schedule for party staff members. III. Inventory Functions + Accountable for all equipment used on an event, from the requisition process before an event to final organization after the event is completed. + Assists LM with equipment maintenance and storage, notifying LM when things need to be reordered. WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING IV. Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability + Must have knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette. + Knowledge of all appropriate table settings and etiquette V. Working Environment / Physical Activities + Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, pushing, balancing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, handling. Must be able to grasp and hold very small objects. + Ability to walk and stand for long period of time. + Ability to push, pull, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. + Ability to work in a very fast paced environment with considerable noise and interruptions.
