Verification Manager
Transdev in Dorchester, MA is hiring a Verification Manager. The Verification Manager oversees a team responsible for assuring that employee requests for hours beyond their scheduled hours are valid and that determinations about the requests are entered into VDS. This position ensures compliance with all applicable policies, rules and regulations, as well as completion of verification process for all requests before the deadline for the weekly payroll.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead continuous efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the weekly verification cycle
+ Assist a team with researching exemption time requests, making decisions on approving or denying exception time, and entering approval/denial information into VDS (which feeds hours to the payroll system).
+ Assure the completion of weekly exception time cycle before the deadline for the weekly payroll.
+ Analyze weekly throughput of exception time processing overall and by person to gage process efficiency and to take appropriate actions (e.g. additional training, rebalancing between team members, process changes, etc.).Also, manage OT requirements based on the throughput.
+ Regularly review analysis tools in PowerBI to determine the effectiveness of the process including trends on the reduction of approved exception time by individual routes and overall.
+ Undertake in-depth thorough and especially accurate analyses for certain individual routes with excessive exception time to determine true underlying root cause(s).Communicate findings to Operations leaders to address route issues with the client, address performance issues with drivers, etc.
+ Manage the information flow from the Verification team to maintenance leaders to address data transmission issues due to equipment failures and driver behavior.This feedback (and associated corrective action) is critical to maintaining the data flows needed to complete the exception time review process effectively and efficiently.
+ Represent Finance at meetings with Operations managers and (in some cases) with the client, and articulate business needs for the verification process.
+ Work with IT Manager to develop and enhance technology solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the verification process.
+ Recruit, select, develop, manage, motivate, coach, and mentor assigned employees; provide guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegate work assignments considering employee skills and development needs; and take disciplinary action as required.
+ Maintain the integrity of the exception time decision making and exercises ethical decision making by neither denying nor approving hours without reasonable justification.
+ Maintain confidentiality of all information.
+ Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
+ Five (5) years of analytical and/or reconciliation work experience.
+ Two (2) in a supervisory capacity.
+ An Associates or higher degree, preferred.
+ Action-oriented with strong perseverance.
+ Analytical ability to interpret data, apply principles, and make decisions.
+ Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
+ Process orientation to design practices, processes, and procedures.
+ Ability to monitor processes, progress, and results.
+ Flexibility to adapt to change.
+ Ability to coach and mentor employees, assign work, develop employees, assess performance, and provide performance feedback.
+ Strong Microsoft 365 skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.Aptitude to effectively utilize other software programs.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Ability to interact with the client and internal employees at all levels.
+ Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
+ 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
+ Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
+ Push and pull objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 20 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
