**Job Title: Vessel Fitter** **Job Description** Candidate will be fitting and fabricating vessels and shell plates to construct water towers and storage tanks utilizing blueprints and drawings. The candidate needs to determine the orientation and degrees of a vessel, lay out, fit up, and weld using flux core. The work will mostly involve structural and tack welds using flux core. **Responsibilities** + Fit and fabricate vessels and shell plates to construct water towers and storage tanks. + Utilize blueprints and drawings for construction. + Determine orientation and degrees of a vessel. + Lay out, fit up, and weld using flux core. + Perform structural and tack welds using flux core. **Essential Skills** + 5 years of vessel fitting experience. + Ability to read blueprints and drawings. + Proficiency in welding using flux core without back gouging. + Capability to perform own layouts and fit-ups. + Experience fitting pressure vessels. + Ability to read tape measure. + Operate cutting torch. + Perform take-offs. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 10 years of experience preferred. + Excellent understanding of blueprints and drawings. + Experience utilizing a peddimaster - peddinghause machine on structural steel components. + Experience building or fitting storage tanks or water towers. + Forklift operator certification. + Overhead crane operator certification. + Growth mindset. + Band saw experience. **Why Work Here?** We offer a dynamic work environment that fosters professional growth and development. The role will start on day shift for 6 months, then move to night shift for 2-4 months, before rotating back to day shift for another 6 months. Day shift hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with Saturdays as needed. Second shift hours are from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday to Friday, with a $1.25 shift differential for night shifts. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
