**Veterinary Assistant** **Location: North Vancouver, B** **C** **Highlands Animal Hospital** is looking for a casual **Veterinary Assistant** . The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. **Duties will include:** + Maintaining medical records + Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients. + Filling prescriptions. + Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging. + Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets and general hospital maintenance including cleaning kennels **What’s required?** + Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients + Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team + Compassion and nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients + Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations + Positive outlook and enthusiasm + Initiative in carrying out assignments independently + Previous veterinary education or a certificate is preferred **What VCA Canada Offers** Join our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families!
