Join VCA North Division Animal Medical Center as an Experienced Veterinary Assistant!

Are you a Veterinary Assistant with a passion for patient care and a drive to advance your skills? VCA North Division Animal Medical is expanding its team, and we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our diverse patient community.

Compensation: $18/hr to $22/hr, based on experience and credentials.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity with a 4-day workweek (10-hour shifts).

What You’ll Do:

As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you will be a vital part of our patient care team, assisting our veterinarians and supporting our clients and patients through a range of responsibilities, such as:

Preparing patients for examination and treatment, including taking vital signs and performing basic assessmentsProviding compassionate care, handling, and restraint for canine, feline, and exotic patientsAssisting in surgical preparation, monitoring, and recoveryPerforming lab tests and diagnosticsManaging pharmacy duties, including filling prescriptions and client educationMaintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring medical equipment is properly sterilized and functioningPlus more

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a Veterinary Assistant who has experience working in a clinical setting and can demonstrate the following skills:

Proficiency in patient handling, particularly with Low-Stress Handling techniquesKnowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and basic veterinary medicineAbility to support veterinarians in a wide range of medical and surgical proceduresStrong communication skills and a commitment to client educationAn understanding of safe, compassionate animal restraint practices
