Intermountain Pet Hospital of Nampa is located in Nampa, Idaho. Intermountain Pet Hospitals have four locations around Boise and have been serving the community for over 50 years. We are seeking a dedicated and Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing hospital. Whether it's a routine check-up, urgent care, or preventative treatments, we are committed to keeping pets healthy, happy, and comfortable. Position Skills: Assist DVMs and fellow team members with appointments and surgical procedures Collect and prepare labratory samples including: hematology, blood chemistry, urinalysis, and cytology prep. We operate with Idexx Lab machines. Diagnostic imaging with use of digital machines Surgical assisting; preparing and maintaining the surgical environment in order to ensure an a sterile environment. Anesthesia monitoring and endotracheal intubation. Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, providing high quality physical and psychological needs of the patient during any hospitalization stay or visit. Proficient in dental prophylaxis. Pharmacy and pharmacology knowledge including: preparing and dispensing medications, calculating dosages, recognizing adverse reactions, knowledge of regulations regarding the safe handling of biohazardous materials Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations Positive attitude, self motivated, compassionate and ambitious Outstanding client service and exceptional patient care Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the team and clients Position Requirements: Veterinary Experience (Minimum of 2 years required) High School diploma or GED certificate Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) is a plus but not required - Pay based on licensure and experience. Flexible schedule including some Saturday shifts, evenings until 9:30p, and holiday shifts.
