VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is growing our Primary Care Service (GP) and seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

About VCA Aurora Animal Hospital

Our Primary Care Service (General Practice) focuses on preventative care, routine wellness exams, and client education to ensure pets receive the best possible medical attention.

Key Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and technicians during patient exams and treatments.Handle and restrain animals safely and appropriately.Obtain patient histories and update medical records.Educate clients on general pet care, vaccines, and preventative medicine.Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.Prepare and administer medications under veterinary supervision.Support with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing.Assist in handling prescription medications and refills per veterinary instructions.Provide compassionate and professional client communication.

Compensation: $ 18 - 23 /hr

Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities are available. 

Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts, with rotating Saturday shifts.

Requirements:

1+ years experience as a Veterinary AssistantComfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.Passion for animal care and client education.
