Veterinary Assistant – Full Time Position

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians and technicians in the care and treatment of animals, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and provide excellent customer service to pet owners. This position requires a passion for animal care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with the care and treatment of animals, including preparing animals for examinations and procedures. Restrain animals during blood draws, nail trims, etc. Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms. Set up for and assist with anesthetic procedures. Assist with laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging. Maintain inventory and stocking.

 

What We’re Looking For:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary assistant program is desirable. Previous experience working with animals in a clinical setting. Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners. Availability to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends.
