**BluePearl Pet Hospital in Oak Creek, WI is looking for a Relief Veterinary Assistant to join our team!** **Position:** **V** **_eterinary Assistant_** **with our ER department.** **Work Schedule** **: Relief** **Pay Range VAI:** **$20.30 - $27.80/hour** ***This pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.** **As a** **_Veterinary Assistant_** **, you will:** **Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.** **Understand the classification of commonly used medications associated side effects, and appropriately monitor therapeutic response** **Vitals: accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort** **Work with state-of-the-art software such as Cornerstone and Instinct** **Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R. CPR guidelines** **Work with the DVM and CVTs to assist in exams and patient treatments.** **Feed, bathe, and provide enrichment to patients** **Help maintain a clean and well-organized hospital** **Assist with exams, diagnostics, and procedures** **Assist with advanced procedures such as endoscopy, thoracocentesis, abdominocentesis** **Help monitor and care for patients after procedures** **Why BluePearl?** **We promote a collaborative culture in our hospitals.
