Waterbury Veterinary Hospital is a 5-doctor small animal practice nestled in a vibrant small-town community between the ski resorts of Stowe and Sugarbush. Our hospital is a large, beautiful and fully equipped facility in Waterbury Center. Our mission is to practice progressive, comprehensive medical care while educating our clients and supporting our community. We have a large and wonderful client base.   Students will work closely with the supervising DVMs to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.     Most externship experiences at Waterbury Veterinary Hospital range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All DVM students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
