Veterinary Internal Medicine Technician

*****$1,500 RELOCATION BONUS MAY APPLY FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED REGISTERED TECHNICIANS RELOCATING WITHIN THE PARKER COLORADO AREA!******

*This position is expected to work Tuesday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm and does require some on-call duties on a rotating basis. Schedules are subject to change based off the needs of the Hospital and the Department. Training Days/Hours TBD**

*This position will pay $25-$34 hourly DOE*

**At least ONE YEAR of experience is required to be considered for this role!** **CVT/RVT Required!**

Overall Responsibility: The Internal Medicine Technician provides patient care for a wide variety of illnesses and diseases under the direction of the Internist. This is a dynamic role that consists of Technician appointments, assisting the DVM with their appointments, assisting with procedures, running anesthesia and a high volume of client communications.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Facilities the department schedule: consults, rechecks, Technician appointments and procedures.Documents medical information in the hospital’s PIMS, Ezyvet, and utilizes Smartflow for treatment whiteboards.Prepares exam and procedure rooms for each visit, anticipating needs of the DVM.Obtain patients current body weight, reason for visit and brief history. Obtain other vitals and lab work as needed.Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.Collects and processes all bloodwork, administers medications, and assists with procedures and endoscopy per the doctor’s orders.Under the direction of the Internist and/or Anesthesiologist, runs anesthesia during procedures as needed.Prepare estimates and collect payment as needed.Answers a high volume of client phone calls and emails in real time. Before the end of each day, process all communications that are pending.Other duties as needed.

Skill Requirements: Excellent client communications, both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task and anticipate needs. Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience required. Colorado Registered Veterinary Technician or the ability to become registered upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Specialty Hospital. Experience running anesthesia.

Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending, standing, routine lifting and restraining of animals that exceed 50lbs.
