Position Summary The successful candidate should have a strong interest in orthopedic surgery for treatment of lameness caused by disease and/or injury in dogs and cats. The successful candidate is expected to provide superior patient care by utilizing CSU’s cutting-edge surgical instrumentation and diagnostic technologies as indicated. Clinical duties will consist of supervision of patient & client care for small animal patients presented to the Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery Service. Our hospital has a unique Small Animal Orthopedic Medicine service that focuses upon lameness diagnosis and non-surgical treatments. This service structure allows our Small Animal Orthopedic Surgeons to focus on providing cutting-edge surgical therapies and assessing treatment outcomes. Duties of the successful candidate will include teaching of veterinary students, interns and residents. Participation in weekly case presentations, journal clubs and daily case rounds will be encouraged. The successful candidate will work closely with other small animal orthopedic surgery faculty (2 ACVSDiplomates) as well as small animal orthopedic medicine faculty (1 ACVSMR 1 ECVS / ACVS / ACVSMR Diplomate). We are pleased to offer flexibility for this position, allowing the selected candidate to choose a work schedule between 0.75 Full-Time Equivalent ( FTE ) and 1.0 FTE . This means you can negotiate a set work week ranging from 30 to 40 hours, depending on your preferences and needs. A signing bonus may be available for qualified applicants.
