Job Title: Patient Care Assistant
Salary: £24,045 per annum (pro rata for part time positions)
Location: Spinney Vets Wootton Fields, Northampton
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
We are looking for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to expand our fantastic team. Patient Care Assistants are an essential part of the Practice Team. Working alongside the clinical team and the client care team, the ideal candidate will have a good background in animal handling, with previous veterinary care experience preferred but not essential as full training will be provided. The highest standards of patient care and premises management need to always be maintained, and PCAs are key to achieving this.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, and support staff where and when required.
Cleaning, disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation. Appropriate husbandry and care of patients, as directed
Completing paperwork to ensure accurate monitoring of all in-patient care
Actively maintain the hospital and follow infection control procedures. This will include sterilising and deep cleaning among other duties.
Assist with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, adaptable, understanding and empathetic.
