Veterinary Referral Coordinator - Internal Medicine
**BluePearl in Renton, WA is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join their talented team!** This is a full-time position that will support the Internal Medicine Department. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4:30pm **Referral Coordinator Pay:** $25.40 - $33.70 / hour **This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience.** We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: + Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential + Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential + Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential As a Referral Coordinator, you are responsible for providing exceptional service to internal and external clients through supporting the care and financial communication needs for the clients and care team of hospitalized patients while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor and taking responsibility for seeking solutions to problems. **Some responsibilities of a Veterinary Referral Coordinator Include:** + Taking primary veterinary calls when the doctor is not available for follow-up questions only. + Documenting conversations with specialists and clients in the medical record. + Ensuring all medical records are forwarded to the appropriate primary veterinarian. + Assisting in routing messages to departments with feedback, questions, or concerns. + Assisting with any scanning of patient documentation (labs, records, insurance claims, etc.) and attaching to the record as appropriate. + Interacting within different services to expedite scheduling of procedures, rechecks, and consults. + Maintaining patient care database by entering new information as it becomes available; brings pertinent emails and faxes to the doctor with the corresponding file and relays the doctors interpretations on (most) blood work and any follow-up instruction or change of direction from the doctor. + Providing overflow support to Client Service Coordinators to answer incoming phone calls, schedule client appointments, and if needed, help cover the front desk to facilitate lunch breaks or shortages. + Submitting all appropriate medical documents and invoices for insurance claims. **Qualifications:** + Strong customer service background. + Understanding of how the hospital as a whole operates. + The ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. + Detailed, thorough, and possessing excellent follow-through skills. + Clear and professional communication abilities are required. + Prior reception or phone experience required; prior veterinary reception experience is a plus. **Why BluePearl?** + Our passion is pets. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours.
