Job Description:

The Specialty Client Service Representatives at the University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals provides support for their respective department (Cardiology, Internal Medicine, or Surgical Oncology). Daily responsibilities include coordinating appointment receiving, handling phone calls and emails to the team, triaging patient and client needs appropriately, and communication with our referring veterinarians. In addition, this individual will assist with checking patients in and out of the hospital, taking deposits and payments, following up on outstanding accounts receivable needs, and ensuring proper paperwork is completed for patient visits. The Client Service Representatives coordinate many aspects of the receiving day in addition to ensuring that patient records are complete, calling in prescriptions, and communication via phone and email with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the hospital. These individuals work closely with the technicians and doctors on the service under direction of their manager.


These are full-time, in-person positions, working Monday through Friday eight hour shifts with a one hour lunch. Typical schedules occur between 7am and 5:30pm.

Expected Salary:

$17-20/hour

Minimum Requirements:

Client Service Representative I: High school diploma or equivalent and one year relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.


Client Service Representative II: High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in veterinary medicine
• Knowledge of medical terminology

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off.  When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
