VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is looking to expand our Interventional Radiology service and hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician or recent Veterinary Technician Graduate to join their team!
VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is 1 of 7 hospitals in the USA to have an integrated operating room (Storz OR1), which allows multiple imaging modalities (endoscopy, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound) to be displayed on multiple monitors simultaneously.
Interventional radiology (also known as IR) is the minimally invasive, image-guided treatment of medical conditions that once required open surgery. This is one of the fastest-growing fields in human medicine, and IR procedures are now routinely performed for a wide variety of conditions.

VCA Arboretum View's IM/IR Technicians better understand body systems and the disease process, learn advanced diagnostic testing, provide excellent patient care, and treat patients with cutting-edge techniques. With the mentorship of our Internist and Specialists, our Internal Medicine Technicians have advanced training and a better understanding of Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology/Urology, Neurology, Respiratory Diseases and Oncology.
Duties will include:
Collecting patient histories and performing physical exams. IVC placementObtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collectionGather and prepare tissue samples for culture and histopathologic diagnosticPerforming laboratory work and diagnostic imagingAssisting in diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and fluoroscopyWorking collaboratively with team members of all hospital services. Calculate drug dosages Anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic procedures and interventional radiology procedures Assisting with postoperative care of the patient (recovery)Maintain patient records Client education and communicationMaintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriatelyPlus so much more!
Schedule: Full-time (four 10-hour weekdays). Monday through Thursday, 8am-6 pm.
Upon complete training with the Service (commonly three months), associates will train to perform on-call surgery duties. Bonuses apply!
Compensation: $25-30/hr
Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
