VCA North Plano Animal Hospital located in Plano, Texas is currently seeking an enthusiastic Licensed Veterinary Technician and/or veterinary assistant to join our team. The successful candidate must be 18 years of age or older, and be at ease handling animals, providing excellent client care, and exude compassion for each one of our pet patients. You must have great attention to detail, have the ability to multitask, good communication skills and be willing to learn new things daily. We are willing to train the right person for a rewarding career in veterinary medicine.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Patient husbandryAssist veterinariansVaccine administrationDraw bloodIV catheter replacementSQ fluid administrationPerform routine dental cleaningsPerforming digital diagnostic imagingNail trims and anal gland expressionMaintaining medical recordsAbility to restrain canine and feline patientsAssisting with preparing and cleaning of the surgical suiteAssisting with surgical patients and proceduresFilling prescriptionsPerforming laboratory workPreforming follow up calls to clientsAnswering phones and scheduling appointments
