Veterinary Technician

VCA North Portland Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician who is passionate about animal care and aspires to grow as a leader within our hospital!

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. 4/10’s flexible scheduling.

Compensation: $ 28 – $ 36 / hour.

Pay is dependent on experience and licensure.   Must have a current veterinary technician license in the state of Oregon or eligible to transfer/obtain a license in Oregon.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including administering treatments, medications, and monitoring their recovery.Anesthesia and Surgery: Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including anesthesia induction, monitoring, and post-operative care.Diagnostics: Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs, ensuring accurate results and timely processing.Client Education: Engage with clients to provide clear communication on their pets’ health, treatment plans, and preventive care.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior staff and help foster a collaborative, positive work environment.
