A rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed. **As a Surgery Veterinary** **Technician,** **you will:** + Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs. + Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions. + Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance. + Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. + Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal. + Set up intravenous fluids and CRI’s. + Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management. + Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. + Comfortable with medical math. + Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery) + Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc. + Disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically. + Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload. **Why** **BluePearl** **?** + Our passion is pets.
