**Veterinary Technician Assistant** **Lake Country, BC** **Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre** in Lake Country, BC, is welcoming a dedicated full-time **Veterinary Technician Assistant** to join our team. We want great team players who enjoy a fast-paced environment and are passionate about making a REAL difference in the lives of our patients and clients. As we continue to expand our ER department to 24/7 services, TA shifts will range from daytime to evening and include overnights, as well as shared weekend shifts. Of course, should a night owl emerge with a preference for overnights, the option for a strict overnight schedule is always available. Otherwise, the sharing of these shifts via rotation helps to maintain a healthy work-life balance for ALL! **What you need** + Previous veterinary experience is an asset + Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients + Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team + Compassion and nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients + Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations + Positive outlook and enthusiasm for learning + Initiative in carrying out assignments independently **Your role will be** + Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with client support and treatment of pet patients, including low stress restraint techniques + Providing support to the Client Care service, occasionally covering shifts in reception when necessary + Preparing medications and supplies for clients to take home (per DVM and RVT instruction) + Providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients, including feeding and walking + Handling and maintaining surgical equipment, including setup, cleaning and sterilization + General hospital care including cleaning kennels, restocking treatment areas, and maintenance of outdoor areas **What VCA Canada Offers** Join our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families!
