VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine Team!
Compensation: $31 – 36 / hour. Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10 hour shifts, Monday- Thursday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Being an Internal Medicine Technician:
Internal Medicine specialists are often considered the puzzle solvers of Veterinary Medicine. VCA NWVS Internal Medicine service is equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings—no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. Our Internal Medicine service diagnoses and treats the many serious diseases that can affect our patients' internal body systems.
Our IM Technicians better understand body systems and the disease process, learn advanced diagnostic testing, provide excellent patient care, and treat patients with cutting-edge techniques. The responsibilities of the Technicians and Veterinary Assistants are to provide support to the Internists and to be part of a collaborative environment to provide thorough patient care.
Our Technicians are a vital reason we can help patients feel better and why pet parents feel a little more at ease because their family members are being cared for with great medicine and warm hearts.
Assist Internal Medicine Specialists with patient exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including radiographs, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ultrasounds, blood work, and urinalysis.Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.Monitor and report on the condition of hospitalized patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care.Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and lab results.Provide client education on medical conditions, treatments, and home care protocols.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning.Assist with anesthesia and surgical procedures as needed.Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with advances in veterinary medicine and technology.
Qualifications:
