VCA Los Angeles Veterinary Specialist is a two-doctor Internal Medicine practice located in the heart of West Hollywood. We share our building with VCA TLC Animal Hospital, a GP/Urgent Care Hospital. Our facility is within walking distance of several local restaurants and shops. Although we serve pets from many different areas of Los Angeles, our local community is our backbone. **We are seeking a highly experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our team.** As a member of the VCA team, you will support our Technician and Doctor Teams by creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere for our clients and patients. Some of the skills you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

**Licensed Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician Duties:**

- Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia for endoscopy, CT, and other IM procedures

- Full Technician Skill Utilization, including bronchoscopy, endoscopy, (GI, nasal, urinary, airway), and cleaning and maintaining equipment following procedures

- Collecting patient histories and conducting thorough physical exams

- Venipuncture, IVC placement, advanced venipuncture, and venous access

- Hands-free radiology (associate safety a top priority)

- Working collaboratively with team members from all hospital services

- Calculating all medical math, including advanced and setting up constant rate infusions (CRI) (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.)

- Setting up for ultrasound and radiology procedures

- Discharging IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations

- Providing compassionate care for all patients

- Performing state-of-the-art diagnostics

- Ensuring documentation is appropriate, thorough, and complete

**Qualifications:**

- Experienced, credentialed technicians are preferred.

- New graduates must have a strong interest in internal medicine and a keen ability to apply knowledge and advance quickly.

- Assisting Board-Certified Internal Medicine doctor with consultations and other patient/client needs.

- Thinking analytically through disease processes and patient needs.

- Hands-on learning, didactic training, and collaboration on case management and treatment to provide the highest quality patient care.

- Experience with multi-modal monitoring equipment.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you will act as a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in-person conversations. Additionally, you will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take X-rays, and obtain lab samples.
