Independently implement approved treatment plans delegating tasks to other team members as appropriate. Possess and master all technical skills commensurate with VTS certification. Detailed knowledge and ability to perform advanced imaging studies.Perform point of care and diagnostic ultrasound, review findings with veterinarian for diagnosis. Perform advanced technical procedures.Master detailed record keeping. (Patient history, condition, treatments, progress, and communications)Provide professional communication to clients and referring veterinarians.Ensure medicine is delivered in compliance with national state, and location regulations. Demonstrate leadership that fosters a culture of learning and continuous process improvement within the nursing care team.Collaborates with Medical Director and other leaders on medical policy creation, implementation, and enforcement.Provides input with problem- solving efforts for daily operations. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships across the hospital. Perform basic to advanced anesthesia. The ability to organize and manage cardiopulmonary arrest of a patient while collaborating with the staff clinician to provide care and support to the patient and their owner.Ability to provide sound guidance and feedback on all aspects of nursing care including protocols, pharmacology, restraint, etc.Advanced knowledge of pharmacology, including medication/ treatment protocols/ mechanism of action, drug calculations and dosing, safe handling/ use/ disposal of medications, side affects, contraindications with other medications.
Education, License, and Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology, veterinary nursing, or similar field. Current credential CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMTExcellent verbal and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and active listening skillsStrong computer and data entry skillsAbility to think critically and work well under pressure.Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a high- volume environmentStrong leadership skills
