We are seeking a talented Licensed Veterinary Technician to join and lead our progressive, well-established small animal practice full time. VCA Morris Plains is located in Morris Plains, NJ and has a long history of supporting Morris Plains and the surrounding communities. We treat a variety of pets, such as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and exotics, as well as wildlife! We are constantly striving to provide high quality medicine while always practicing Fear Free techniques and low stress handling, to ensure our patients have the best experience possible. We utilize our vet techs in all areas of the hospital. Our techs are fluent in anesthesia, dentistry, laboratory work, nursing skills, etc., and pursuit of special interests by the technicians is not only supported but encouraged!

As a member of the VCA team, you will support Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. You’ve worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals Physical examinations and patient assessment Anesthesia monitoring Surgical preparation and assisting Dentistry Radiology Laboratory work Venipuncture Catheter placement Pharmacy Patient recovery
In the supervisor role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Directing work flow on the floorAssists in the educational development of technicians and their skills Help with the interview process for potential new hires Technician Scheduling Assists in staffing and coverage where needed Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience ·Mentoring technicians within the department Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all
The salary range for this position $24-$28/hr is commensurate with experience - $1500 Signing Bonus Opportunity!
