As a Technician Supervisor, you will play a vital role in advancing high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care. You’ll lead by example, mentoring and supporting a talented team of technicians and assistants while fostering a collaborative, empowering work environment. Partnering with our Medical Director, Hospital Manager, and SpecialityTechnical Supervisor, you’ll help ensure the hospital operates efficiently, with a focus on excellence in both patient and client care.
This is a working supervisory position where you’ll combine leadership duties with hands-on technical responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn addition to performing all Veterinary Technician responsibilities, your duties will include:
Leadership & Mentorship:Mentor and support Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) technical staff, including Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) and Veterinary Assistants (VAs).Assist in onboarding, training, and continuing education.Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture focused on teamwork and growth.Staffing & Scheduling:Participate in hiring and interviewing processes.Create and manage staff schedules.Approve/deny vacation requests and track staff absences.Performance & Policy Management:Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and address staff concerns.Monitor adherence to hospital policies and provide performance feedback, including disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR.Manage time sheets and process pay adjustments, bonuses, and differentials.Operational Excellence:Collaborate with Technical Supervisor and ECC Leads on hospital safety inspections, monthly reporting, and documentation.Assist with training initiatives and support staff meetings.What We’re Looking ForWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated leader who is committed to creating a thriving work environment where employees feel valued and empowered.
Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT).3+ years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine, with a focus on Emergency & Critical Care preferred.Proven team leadership experience.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Passion for veterinary medicine and elevating team performance.ScheduleThis is a full-time position with a 4 x 10-hour shift schedule. Day or Swing availability required.
