Veterinary Technician Supervisor-Oncology

Compensation - Up to $30/hr based on experience

At VCA Animal Diagnostic Clinic-Dallas, we are looking for the next veterinary technician leader in our hospital. Our Oncology department consists of 5 Medical Oncologists and one Radiation Oncologist. With your knowledge, skills, and experience in veterinary medicine, you will have the opportunity to lead/mentor our Oncology team to excellence. You will work alongside our seasoned leadership team to ensure hospital efficiency, build your leadership skills, and grow your career.

Manage work flowManage associate schedules and call outsWork cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospitalConduct interviews for potential new hiresAssist in the educational development of technicians and their skillsSchedule and conduct team meetingsProvide opportunities for staff to gain more hands-on experienceMentor and train technicians within the departmentResolve conflicts in a professional and humble mannerDeliver quarterly associate performance feedbackMonitor day-to-day activities and engage with support staffMaintain, refine, and implement protocolsEnsure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are followed by all technical associates.

Qualifications for Veterinary Technician Supervisor:

High School DiplomaLicensed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT (preferred)5 + years of clinical experienceProven leadership skillsPassion for Veterinary MedicineExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProfessional personal appearanceAbility to multitask, prioritize, and delegate medical and administrative tasksAbility to show leadership skills with all levels of experience and job dutiesRead and respond to all communication in a timely mannerAttend leadership meetingsMust be positive, motivated, and dependable

Physical Requirements:

Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.Must be able to lift 40 pounds.Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions.Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone.Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment such as electric clippers, syringes, radiology equipment, laboratory equipment, computers, etc.
