**BluePearl Pet Hospital** **in Spring, TX** **is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team!** A BluePearl Surgery Technician is responsible for some post-operative client communication and must be able to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal. Prefer to have a minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital. A rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed. **As a Surgery Veterinary** **Technician,** **you will:** + Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.​ + Assistin patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs. + Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anestheticcomplications, andmakeappropriate interventions. + Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance. + Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratoryrateand effort. + Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal. + Set up intravenous fluidsand CRI’s. + Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals,difficult airway intubation, and critical case management. + Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. + Able to set up intravenous fluids. + Administers subcutaneous fluids. + Can operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. + Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically. + Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload. + Have experience with ASA III-V and anesthetic ventilator cases ​ **Why BluePearl?** + Pet Passion: Enjoy Trupanion pet insurance and discounts for medical care at BluePearl. + Growth Opportunities: Advance your skills with our talent development programs and leadership workshops.
