Role Overview:
The VP of AI will lead the AI Engineering Organization, driving the development, deployment, and scalability of AI solutions while ensuring measurable value creation for ADP and its clients. The ideal candidate is a technology leader who has evolved from engineering to data, then into AI leadership, with a strong ability to navigate a large enterprise, lead global teams, and execute AI-driven strategies at scale.
This leader must be obsessed with client success, ensuring that our products and solutions deliver tangible business value through measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute an AI Engineering strategy focused on scalability, reliability, and client impact. Develop end-to-end AI solutions, ensuring AI models drive real business value and align with ADP’s client needs and enterprise objectives. Establish AI performance metrics that track impact on customer experience, automation efficiency, and business outcomes. Lead cross-functional collaboration between product, engineering, data science, and business leaders to align AI solutions with market demands. Ensure compliance with AI ethics, bias mitigation, and regulatory standards, building trustworthy and transparent AI systems. Drive execution at scale within a complex enterprise environment, ensuring speed-to-market while managing dependencies and risks. Thought leadership & industry engagement, representing ADP in AI/technology forums, conferences, and client engagements.Technical & Data Leadership:
Deep expertise in engineering and architecture, with a strong foundation in scalable, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures. Proven experience in AI infrastructure, model deployment, and AI operations (MLOps), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of AI solutions. Expertise in data platforms, data engineering, and big data technologies, ensuring AI solutions are built on a solid data foundation. Strong background in neural networks, NLP, deep learning, and generative AI. Expertise in modern AI/ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain. Deep experience in LLMs and Generative AI: fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and model distillation. MLOps & AI Infrastructure: End-to-end model lifecycle management using MLFlow, SageMaker, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, and Databricks. Strong software engineering principles, with expertise in API design, microservices, and cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure). Experience in end-to-end AI solutioning, from data ingestion, feature engineering, and model development to deployment and monitoring. Operationalization of AI models—including automation, observability, performance optimization, and continuous monitoring. Architecting scalable AI platforms and pipelines, ensuring seamless integration into ADP’s global product suite. Ability to communicate AI-driven business value to non-technical stakeholders, bridging the gap between engineering, data science, and business leaders.Leadership & Execution Scope:
Build and scale a world-class AI engineering team, fostering a culture of execution, innovation, and client obsession. Global leadership across ADP’s AI engineering teams in the US, Brazil, Spain, and India. Measure and track AI’s impact—establishing KPIs to assess AI-driven productivity gains, cost reductions, and new revenue streams. Drive execution within a large enterprise—balancing speed, agility, and compliance in a highly regulated environment. Engage directly with C-level executives and product leadership to align AI initiatives with ADP’s strategic goals. Develop external AI partnerships and alliances with vendors, startups, and research institutions to drive AI innovation.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in high-growth tech companies, startups, or Fortune 500 enterprises. Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) and data pipeline frameworks. Familiarity with ethical AI, bias mitigation, and regulatory compliance in AI applications.
Requirements:
15+ years of progressive experience in technology engineering, data platforms, and AI/ML leadership. Evolved from core software engineering to data, then AI leadership, with strong execution ability. Proven track record of delivering AI at scale, ensuring measurable business impact and client outcomes. Deep expertise in AI-driven automation, data engineering, and large-scale AI deployment. Hands-on experience leading AI teams within a complex, global enterprise. MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions.
