Arhaus Vice President of Applications is a senior-level leader responsible for overseeing the entire application development lifecycle within an organization, including strategy, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of all enterprise applications, ensuring they align with business needs and deliver optimal functionality; they lead teams of developers, architects, and project managers, collaborating closely with various business units to prioritize projects, manage budgets, and drive innovation in application technology.
Key fundamental skill sets for this role will be:
Develop and execute a comprehensive application strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals, identifying technology trends and opportunities for application modernization. Understand the end to end business process and lead the technology solution from design to implementation and improve the process efficiency. Manage the entire application portfolio, including lifecycle planning, prioritization, cost optimization, and sunsetting legacy applications. Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of application developers, architects, testers, and project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into functional requirements, and prioritize features for application development. Oversee the delivery of application projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate new application development tools and platforms to drive innovation and efficiency. Manage relationships with external application vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality delivery of services. Develop and manage the application development budget, allocating resources efficiently across projects. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to application performance, user adoption, and system stability.
Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years in software development, project management, process development and resource management. ERP systems implementation experience is a must. Has successfully led development and delivery of multiple complex business technology solutions into production that have achieved or surpassed business goals. Deep knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology. Expertise with managing application development at scale, employing SDLC methodologies including Agile and Scrum. Experience as a key techno functional resource with sound experience in design, configuration, setup and implementation. Experience working with and validating Order Configuration, Available to Commerce, Allocation, Release and Fulfilment Optimization Strategy, Fulfilment Outage. Develop, track, and control the enterprise IT annual operating and capital budget. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of software product issues. Experience delivering enterprise solution implementations.
Leadership Skills:
10+ years of experience in a Leadership capacity in a Retail environment. Foster a collaborative environment across all technology and business teams- Acting as a strong cross functional partner with a strong level of influence, credibility, and accountability. Ability to lead, manage and mentor team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, resources, and support to be successful in their roles; and continuously upskill team members to keep them current. Provide candid feedback and high impact coaching that enables (and motivates) team to achieve departmental as well as enterprise goals. Must be able to effectively communicate a strategic vision for technology at the executive level. Must have a strategic thought process and the ability to align technology goals with enterprise goals.
