Vice President, Architecture
Job Description:

The Role

Fidelity Workplace Investments (WI) is looking for a Vice President, Architecture to be a key player in moving us forward into our digital future and digital transformation of our business. Workplace Platforms builds some of our key platforms that are used across WI.  You will be a critical part of building modern Stock Plan Services recordkeeping platform while driving adoption of common WI capabilities such as product configuration, participant data management, and exchanging data with clients and partners.

As a leader within the architecture team, the candidate will cultivate innovation, drive standardization, and deliver pioneering technology patterns across the stack for our customers' use. You will help with the product roadmap evolution in conjunction with business unit product goals and provide leadership in computing services, adoption of platforms and consolidation across initiatives. Your architectural direction will help build our future state recordkeeping system.

Architectural Approach: Active curiosity to conceptualize, design, and construct data and processes; Helping articulate, govern, and evolve the Workplace Platforms strategy align with business objectives, goals, and strategy. Extensive experience decomposing relevant business problems into creative, efficient, and scalable solutions Platform Modernization Experience: Hands-on knowledge with modernizing financial platforms, using enterprise patterns and tools to deliver enterprise-scale, secure and highly resilient solutions that will be the building blocks for our business. Communication: Strong story-telling skills that drive program messaging and influence decisions and action. Ability to articulate architecture solutions to Senior Executives and architecture leadership Collaboration: Ability to navigate sophisticated, interpersonal relationships and build partnerships across the firm at all levels People Management: Senior level experience managing, leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people Leadership: Strong management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills are a must; providing technical leadership and hands on day-to-day solutions to squads Influencing Skills: Employs collaborative approach to gain consensus and support for the needs of the work. Understands organizational dynamics and adapts proposals to efficiently navigate constraints Business/Application Knowledge: Understanding of the Stock Plan Services domain model as well as the business practices of participant and associate personas

The Expertise You Bring

You have good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence and engage across Fidelity Confirmed experience in Modern Architecture techniques and Cloud Data Technologies Experience practicing Business Architecture including aligning Business and Technology strategies, Customer Journeys, Capability Modeling and Roadmaps Demonstrated ability in defining and delivering on application or software architectures, architecture strategies, and solutions 5+ years in successfully using public cloud service providers (AWS/Azure) and building platforms
