What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Vice President, Balance Sheet Management, Americas Treasury in New York, NY multiple positions available):

Support senior management decision making on issues relating to measuring and monitoring Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book.Support senior management decision making on issues relating to bank capital management such as capital planning and stress testing.Work with a variety of stakeholders to understand the underlying drivers and how this is impacted by changes in customer behavior, pricing and the wider interest rate environment.Identify, model, and quantify material interest rate exposures.Ensure that appropriate Funds Transfer Pricing is in place covering Capital, Funding and Liquidity and hedging interactions.Support senior management decision on the impact of interest rate risk on capital allocation across the businesses and legal entities.Understand US Regulatory framework in which Asset and Liability Management operates.Translate external requirements to various internal stakeholders in the bank.Set and drive strategy for managing Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book while ensuring internal and prudential requirements are met.Provide technical expertise in the Treasury Asset and Liability Management space.Engage with a variety of stakeholders across functions, business units and geographical locations.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $175K per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $205K per year

Purpose of the role

To verify that the bank has sufficient funds to meet its short-term and long-term obligations, and the development and implementation of strategies to manage the bank's liquidity position.  

Accountabilities

Development and implementation of funding and liquidity strategies to efficiently manage the bank’s liquidity position within regulatory requirements and risk appetite at favourable commercial outcomes with respect to funding costs.Analysis and quantification of the regulatory and behavioural liquidity risk impact of transactions undertaken by business units.Maintenance of strong relationships with key business units and working with the business units to manage liquidity to within constrains.Monitoring of key liquidity metrics and trends and advising on actions to be taken to maintain funding and liquidity levels within tolerance.Managing intra-group funding arrangements to ensure subsidiaries are adequately funded and managed within balance sheet, large exposure and capital constraints.Design and implementation of stress testing methodologies to assess the bank's liquidity resilience under various financial shocks, economic downturns, and sector-specific crises, and analysis of stress testing results and development of mitigation strategies to address potential liquidity shortfalls.Development of new tools, models and data analysis to support and enhance the bank’s funding and liquidity management capabilities.
