The Vice President, Board Engagement and Enterprise Strategy & Business Development (ESBD) Operations will play a critical role in KP-s overall enterprise strategy and growth and diversification agenda and will report to Senior Vice President, Enterprise Transformation. She/he will support enterprise efforts working with members of the national and market leadership teams. This VP serves as the business partner to the Board Governance team and secretary to provide high-level strategic support to the enterprise-s Board of Directors - KFH/HP, Risant Health, and relevant subsidiaries - and their committees. This role ensures effective communication, strategic alignment, and coordination between the Board, executive leadership, and other stakeholders, significantly contributing to the organization-s mission, strategy and success. In partnership with the Office of the CEO, and Communications / Thought Leadership, this role will develop enterprise communications and prepare for key meetings to disseminate strategy (e.g., Town Halls). The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with a solid understanding of corporate governance. This role will build and oversee ESBD operations, responsible for building and executing an infrastructure and talent strategycomparable to a professional services practice. The Vice President, Board Engagement and ESBD Operations will be a key member of the leadership team within ESBD, partnering across the team to develop and manage enterprise strategic growth.
Essential Responsibilities:Strategy Development and Executive Communication:Understand and participate in the development of strategies across the KP enterprise.Craft and deliver narratives that align with the organization-s goals, values, and strategic objectives. Develop well-structured, purposeful narratives to communicate complex ideas, and strategies in a way that resonates with board members and other stakeholdersMake complex information more accessible and memorable.Provide a clear context for strategic decisions, helping Board members and executives understand the rationale behind proposals and initiatives.Build trust and credibility by presenting a coherent and compelling narrative that demonstrates the organization-s vision and achievements. Support engagement of stakeholders, drive change, and foster a shared understanding of the organization-s mission and strategy.Leadership Engagement: Partner with the Office of the CEO, CEO Executive Committee, and Communications to develop enterprise communications and prepare for key meetings to disseminate strategy (e.g., Town Halls).Facilitate executive meetings and events.Provide guidance on effective communication and presentation skills for Board and leadership meetings, ensuring executives are well-prepared to answer questions and contribute to the organization-s success. Provide strategic advice to executives and their teams to align presentations with enterprise standards.Board Support:Partner with the Board governance team to plan engagement with KP enterprise Boards of Directors, including KFH/HP, Risant Health and relevant subsidiaries such as KFHPWA, KPMF, and Risant organizations as needed.Ensure Board meeting formats support meaningful engagement, including designing and executing more experiential meeting formats for in-person meetings. Oversee development of management-prepared Board materials, including meeting materials, executive talking points, and discussion documents; align content and messaging across materials and Board meetings, as well as with the enterprise business cycle.Establish and refine methodologies for the development of Board materials and strategic narratives. Ensure these methodologies are applied consistently and effectively across Board support throughout the organization and across ESBD. Coordinate internal and external speakers and their messaging.Support the EVP, ESBD in his role as Board liaison, including tracking Board referrals.Stay informed about significant industry trends and best practices in Board engagement, and make recommendations as appropriate. Develop and maintain board library materials in collaboration with subject matter experts.ESBD Operations: Oversee the development of the infrastructure to support an ESBD team comparable to a leading professional services practice. Manage the budget for ESBD.Manage ESBD vendors, including bankers, consultants, and knowledge providers.Manage staffing and resource assignment for ESBD.Mentor and develop team members across ESBD.Identify talent needs and support recruitment efforts to strengthen ESBD. Supervise, coach, and develop key members of the, team fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the team is equipped to meet the organization-s strategic goals. Developing explicit understanding of which relationships are most important to the organization and its stakeholders and building a network prioritizing these relationships. Preferred Qualifications:
Preferably 10 years at the corporate or regional level; experience within a matrixed organization is preferred.
