Vice President, Data and Analytics

The Vice President, Data and Analytics will report to the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for a range of data-related functions, including data management, data quality, data strategy, data governance, analytics, business intelligence, and reporting. Your team will include the data science, analytics, reporting, actuarial, data operations and business intelligence functions. You will also define and prioritize our data & reporting roadmap, ensuring we are delivering meaningful intelligence to our customers as it relates to our value story, in addition to key customer reporting and analytics requirements.

Additionally, you will partner closely with our SVP of Products and our Chief Clinical Officer in order to identify the key insights and data products to inform our clinical programs, our rising risk prediction platform, Cortex, and our recommendations engine.

The Analytics and Business Intelligence Team is a cross-functional team working with nearly all departments in the company. The team includes a data-driven group of actuaries, analysts and data scientists. The team works cross-organizationally to deliver insights to Collective Health customers and broker partners in order to help them understand and manage their health benefits plans, member population, and opportunities to drive better health benefit options, cost and outcomes to improve overall value. The team is responsible for the analytical methodology by which data products are produced for use in our employer portal, Compass, and other channels by which we deliver data and insights internally and externally. 

The VP, Data and Insights role is critical to our client reporting function and internal team development. It's a fast paced and dynamic role offering the opportunity to work with varied data types to answer a wide range of questions. You will drive structure, accountability, accuracy, predictability and consistency to our recurring and ad hoc reporting, as well as our internal business insights enabling us to continually improve our products and operations. Additionally, you will mentor and develop analysts and define what the future of dynamic, insightful healthcare analytics reporting looks like!

What you'll do: Lead the team executing on day-to-day client analytic reporting and analysis, business operations, and data science activities Manage internal and external stakeholders of data analytic reporting Drive accountability and efficiency in across our data and analytics teams Mentor and professionally develop data analysts for career progression Partner with data engineers to advance reporting data validation and integrity Strategically advance scalable, high-quality reporting capabilities Drive our overall business data strategy, opportunities and vision Drive our reporting and data products prioritization and roadmap To be successful in this role, you'll need: 10+ years of analytics work experience with 5+ years working specifically with healthcare data 5+ years of people management experience with the ability to support, empower and develop a team of analysts Ability to go deep and dig into the data to understand limitations and opportunities and drive the data strategy Experience driving data governance, implementation and strategy, along with strong communications and collaboration skills to drive change and awareness across the company Experience “rolling up your sleeves” alongside analysts to deeply understand opportunities to improve and innovate Experience working with healthcare claims data External facing communications and customer interaction: Ability to represent Collective Health in customer & broker meetings as it relates to our value story and the data strategy that supports it Experience in report automation, data validation, and efficient analytical reporting in any tool Ability to translate nontechnical data requests into logical queries and visualizations Demonstrated ability to partner across teams in order to both understand customer and business needs, but also articulate the vision and strategy to meet our goals Ability to apply judgment to prioritize asks and balance multiple stakeholders and priorities Experience with complex data security environments Pay Transparency Statement

This is a hybrid position based out of our San Francisco office, with the expectation of being in office at least two weekdays per week. #LI-hybrid

The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
