Vice President, EHS & Remediation

The Vice President, Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) and Remediation will provide strategic thought leadership, influence, and hands on engagement across all regions to lead the EHS and Remediation strategy and operational improvements for the global organization. Reporting to the SVP & President Allegion Americas, he/she will lead and develop a global team of EHS professionals responsible for all aspects of EHS and Remediation, while working collaboratively across all business segments and functional teams to lead Allegion’s strategy and continue to lead world class performance. This position will also be responsible for the development and management of all EHS regulatory programs to ensure maximum compliance.

A primary area of focus will be the enterprise execution and evolution of the EHS management system, including setting and refining global policies, overseeing the development of standards, tools, auditing, baseline metrics, employee training, and engaging with the business to provide scalable and effective health and safety strategies that support current and future business objectives while prioritizing employee safety.

What You Will Do:

The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling enterprise performance through the leveraging of world class EHS principles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide strong leadership on achieving world class performance related to environmental, health, safety, and security, coordinating all interaction with outside EHS resources in conjunction with current policies and regulations.Provide EHS consultation and information to support company EHS efforts. Work cooperatively with all levels of Allegion management staff on safety related issues as they impact other company functions.Monitor and drive improvement in EHS metrics including incident rates, energy consumption, waste diversion, and provide feedback to executive leadership.Develop and implement global policies involving safety, health, and environmental matters. This includes updating existing and developing new programs as needed due to regulatory changes, and or changes in company policies.Direct the management of environmental programs in the areas of pollution abatement, environmental and wastewater management.Lead the implementation and management of ISO 14001, 45001 and 50000 and achievement of Allegion related goals in this area.Lead EHS regional directors and/or site leads to ensure proactive EHS engagement on all projects assigned to the regions.Lead and manage all existing and future remediation sites to protect the environment and to ensure compliance with local laws.Establish appropriate 3rd party relationships where required to ensure effective management of remediation sites.Serve as an active member of the ESG Committee by providing Environmental and Safety strategies and inputs and by contributing to the continuous improvement process to increase transparency to stakeholders, employees, and the general public.Drive company-wide corrective actions and risk reduction by analyzing systemic incident causes and by developing corrective actions to drive proactive programs that will prevent future recordable accidents.Provide formal responses to government requests and act as an ambassador of Allegion when requests are made.Oversee workers' compensation program administration (or equivalent), including setting of reserves, managed care, and case management to drive a strong return to work program.Lead and develop emergency response and security protocols globally. Partner with sites and core security team members to develop and implement standardized security requirements.Lead EHS activities on M&A projects as they occur.Direct the corporate facilities management team and manage the budget.Create succession planning and oversight of succession planning for regional EHS leader(s).Inspire employee engagement; influence positive behaviors and leading indicators.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

15+ years’ experience of progressively increasing responsibilities in EHS & Remediation in a global diversified environment.Including 10+ years of demonstrated leadership capabilities leading a global organization; Excellent knowledge of manufacturing operations, industry trends, and ability to work effectively in a globally matrixed organization/team environment.Strong global EHS & Remediation background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing EHS & Remediation operations in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulatory requirements
