Job Title: Vice President, Enterprise Strategy

The Vice President, Enterprise Strategy will lead our enterprise-wide strategic initiative portfolio to identify and assess growth and innovation opportunities for Thomson Reuters.  This includes ideating and assessing new adjacencies, developing major cross-company strategic initiatives, and sourcing and assessing major acquisitions and divestitures. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders and senior leaders across the organization to assess organizational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic plans that align with the company's vision and objectives.  

About the Role 
In this opportunity as Vice President, Enterprise Strategy, you will: 

Lead the development and implementation of our top-down Growth Strategy initiative.  

Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, threats, and opportunities for evolving Thomson Reuters business footprint, including new adjacencies and portfolio structure.  

Facilitate and drive enterprise-wide strategic initiatives through inception to completion.  

Identify, prioritize, and bring to fruition organic Horizon 2 organic investment opportunities.  

Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic transactions.  

Prepare and present reports on strategic initiatives and acquisitions to the CSO, CEO, board of directors, and other key stakeholders.  

Mentor and develop a high-performing strategy team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, and performance evaluation.  

Manage team members, project timelines, and take overall responsibility for the rigor and quality of strategic analysis   

Collaborate with other Strategy leaders on opportunities that span across Thomson Reuters’ segments, and efficient use of resources across the team.   

Engage externally with customers and industry experts to maintain a pulse on industry trends and ensure Thomson Reuters has visibility into actional inorganic opportunities.   

 

About You

You’re a fit for the role of VP Strategy if your background includes:

Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline required; Graduate degree preferred.   

Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, including working in strategy consulting or in-house strategy teams.   

Strategy experience in on or more of the markets served by Thomson Reuters or the broader application software or business information markets is preferred.   

Experience leading fast-paced strategy projects with solid line and dotted line participants.   

Executing on organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including M&A target screening and strategic due diligence.   

Strong narrative and visual storytelling ability.   

Synthesis and simplification of complex ideas. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.  

Ability to perform and direct quantitative analyses, including financial modeling and market sizing.   

Proven experience working in large, complex, global organization with a successful track record of collaboratively working with colleagues across regions, markets, and cultures.   

Proven ability to build relationships and influence all levels within an organization.   

Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and projects.  

Deep understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and business drivers.
