The Vice President, Finance is a senior member of the financial management team for Optum Corporate Finance, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance. This position has overall accountability for leading and directing the consolidation of Optum’s budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and related analysis functions as well as direct finance support for Optum Corporate shared functions (Human Capital, Enterprise Marketing, Finance & Accounting etc.) and is responsible for ensuring that cost structure is appropriate for a competitive environment. This also includes direct responsibility for operating cost management and reporting as well as the execution of intersegment agreements.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent education and experience; MBA preferred 15+ years of progressively responsible financial and operational management experience Ability to anticipate financial reporting and operational issues, asses their implications, determine their impact and develop and implement appropriate action plans Multi-divisional, multi-year financial experience, including demonstrated ability to influence in a matrixed environment Deep working knowledge of financial systems, statement and reports Advanced knowledge of industry-specific accounting principles and other regulatory requirements, evidenced by an ability to apply that knowledge to both practical and theoretical situations Results-oriented change agent with demonstrated ability to develop effective cross-functional relationships Exceptional organizational, problem solving, and inter-personal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to break work down into process steps; develop schedules and work well within time constraints in a high pace environment Proven ability to source and select, develop, promote and retain top financial talentAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
