Vice President, Finance

Chubb is looking to hire a strategic thinker with strong business acumen to join the Personal Risk Services (PRS) Division Finance team.  The PRS Division Finance team supports the leadership team in executing on business initiatives which generate over $7B in GWP.  This position will support several components of the PRS financials including expenses and production and will be responsible for proving clear and concise communication of business and financial results to PRS and North American leadership a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Monthly Forecast, Quarterly Close and Annual & Strategic Plan  Build and maintain financial models and analysis to provide financial and analytical insights into monthly and quarterly results as it relates to Plan, Forecast and Prior Year. Collaborate with key business partner (i.e. Sales Management, Actuarial and Corporate Finance Teams) to drive key processes and deliverables for the Strategic and Annual Plan. Work closely with PRS field and regional teams to create production plans at a geography and line of business level.  Plans include detailed assumptions supporting new and renewal business including expected strategic initiatives that are in development or underway.  Develop reports and commentary that help measure progress on PRS’ financial and operational key performance indicators.   Prepare impactful presentation materials and supporting materials for senior management meetings in support of Quarterly Close, Forecast and Plans. Learn key finance processes to facilitate process improvements and serve as back up for certain close and forecast deliverables. Perform weekly projections on current quarter results for Gross and Net Written Premium that accounts for information received from business leaders in sales, underwriting and product. Ensure the accuracy, completeness of PRS Financial. Work with North American finance if issues are discovered to make sure corrective journal entries are made. Reporting, Analytics and Process Improvement Develop detailed financial review process and standardized analytics package for each line item of the P&L to be used for the monthly close, forecast, annual and strategic Plans. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of PRS Financials. Work with North America Finance and other functional teams if issues are discovered and make corrective journal entries as needed.  Own the divisional financial results and develop detailed financial reviews of each P&L item. Review existing reports and process for consistency and alignment with best practices.  Drive automation of reports and dashboards in collaboration with Finance teammates, PRS Business Analytics team and others in Qlik, TM1, etc. Partner with all members of Finance team and business groups to ensure all parties are leveraging consistent data sets. Special Projects Take leadership role on projects that will improve departmental efficiency and performance including: analytics, data, reporting / segment changes.  Partner with business leadership to support special projects to develop reporting tools needed to meet business goals. Support ad hoc request, and other initiatives, as needed.

Technical Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business with an Accounting/Finance major (preferred) 10+ years of accounting and finance experience.Insurance accounting/financial knowledge understanding (preferred) Experience with Property and Casualty reinsuranceMastery of end user applications (e.g. Microsoft products such as Excel/PowerPoint/Word).Knowledge of database applications or TM1 software a plus.
