Vice President, Government Contracting, Regulatory, & M&A Integration Job ID 208524 Posted 28-Feb-2025 Service line Corporate Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Legal Location(s) Washington, D.C. - District of Columbia - United States of America **About The Role:** As CBRE’s Vice President, Mission Critical Services (MCS), Regulatory, & M&A integration, you will be the compliance subject matter expert for CBRE’s global Mission Critical Services business segment. You will also build and lead the compliance teams that oversee CBRE’s highly regulated service lines and monitor compliance integration activities for M&A transactions. The MCS business segment includes CBRE’s Government & Defense (including J&J Worldwide Services) and Infrastructure & Energy sectors. You will provide thought partnership and compliance support on complex, global transactions important to MCS strategy, support MCS in developing compliance policies and processes, and oversee any remediation activities critical to MCS’ regulatory obligations. In addition, you will build and oversee the team of compliance professionals responsible for CBRE’s global capital markets businesses as well as the compliance professionals responsible for implementing compliance programs for CBRE’s acquisitions. If you are a strategic thinker and a team builder with an entrepreneurial passion for supporting fast-paced, high-growth business lines, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. **What You'll Do:** + Work closely with the MCS legal team and executive leaders to develop and execute the compliance strategy, including KPIs, for CBRE’s MCS business segment. + Provide compliance oversight and guidance on key real estate, facility, and project management transactions with public sector, energy, utility, industrial, and defense clients globally, including the U.S. federal government. + Partner closely with MCS leadership to achieve business objectives and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. + In partnership with legal, advise MCS executive leaders and others on the operationalization of necessary legal actions based on global economic, regulatory, or environmental pressures or technological advances that may impact the company's strategy or operations, including changes in U.S. Government-specific laws and regulations. + Identify risk, ethics, and compliance issues, and partner with CBRE’s broader global risk, ethics, and compliance organization to provide coordinated strategic advice and training. + Provide compliance training and education to MCS teams and others on regulatory matters impacting the company’s Government contract business. + Provide formal supervision, monitor the training and development of compliance staff, conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. + Integrate broad knowledge of regulatory issues within the governmental, quasi-governmental, and energy industries and collaborate with others to achieve team and departmental objectives. + Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, human resources, and operations, to ensure alignment on compliance matters. + Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by CBRE policies and departmental plans. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. + Identify and solve legal, technical, and operational problems of complexity. + Understand and recognize the broader impact across CBRE and the legal department. + Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline. + Other job-related duties as may be assigned. **What You'll Need:** To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution (Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school preferred). + A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (including progressive leadership experience) with at least 5 years of that experience at a government agency or in-house at a highly-matrixed organization is preferred. + Experience implementing corporate compliance programs, including knowledge of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, relevant SEC compliance program guidelines, and the US DOJ Guidance on the Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs, as may be amended from time to time. + Demonstrated experience providing strategic guidance to executives, management and other senior professionals on complex regulatory issues specific to global government or defense contracting, including significant experience with U.S. federal government or defense contracting. + Deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other U.S. and international laws and regulations related to government contracting. + A strong track-record leading teams with experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred. + Experience with international mergers and acquisitions, integration activities, and establishing and administering joint ventures, subsidiaries, and related companies across the globe is preferred. + Experience developing and presenting training to business leaders and legal professionals. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. + Leadership skills to motivate key stakeholders to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. + Extensive organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset. + Demonstrated experience managing budgets and forecasts and the ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations. + TS or Secret Clearance is preferred, but not required. + DC/MD/VA area preferred, but not required. CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $200,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $225,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
