The Global Product Solutions (GPS) organization intends to hire an individual to join the Global Index Provider Strategy team. This individual will report to the Global Head of Index Provider Strategy for GPS and will focus on supporting the firm's strategy and relationships with our key index providers and related ecosystem partners. The candidate will work closely with cross-regional teams within GPS (e.g., Product Innovation, Product Strategy, Cross-Platform Commercialization, Ecosystem Marketing, COO & Global Business Strategy) and multiple GPS Partner teams (e.g., BlackRock Global Markets (BGM), Global Client Business (GCB) Index and Data Services (IDS), Legal & Compliance (L&C)).
About the Global Index Provider Strategy team
The Team’s mission is to centralize and prioritize BlackRock’s global “Product” engagement with our index & data ecosystem partners to enable & accelerate product innovation (for the betterment of our clients) while ensuring our mutual long-term commercial success. Our team collaborates across GPS in close partnership across 1BLK to help shape the long-term direction of BlackRock’s investment platform.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cultivate relationships and serve as primary contact with our key index provider ecosystem partners
• Support the crafting and execution of intermediate to long-term agenda (1-3yrs) with our partners & leverage 1BLK resources / strengths to drive value beyond what can be accomplished in isolation
• Liaise and communicate with 1BLK partners to set and oversee global strategy and relationships across the spectrum of index providers & related partners, and continue to elevate our partnerships
• Manage complex, transformative internal and external initiatives that require collaboration across a range of diverse stakeholders
• Ensure senior stakeholders (e.g., GEC, GPS ExCo) are kept abreast of index provider relationships, key priorities, and strategic discussions
• Coordinate across 1BLK to drive near-term product priorities and ensure ongoing index provider-related business processes run efficiently
• Align 1BLK views to lead regular business and performance reviews with key providers
• Support index provider negotiations to achieve cost savings and strategic benefits

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with 6-10 years financial industry experience
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience managing relationships and interfacing with external partners, clients, and vendors
• Experience working with index products and understanding of index provider businesses
• Ability to understand contractual terms and implications of contract terms on business
• Experience driving long-term transformative initiatives and projects
• Proven track record of problem-solving
• Understanding of ETP/ETF product strategy & mechanics, or iShares product line-up (preferable)
• Strong understanding of BlackRock’s clients and products (preferable)
