VP Director of Operations at Tokio Marine HCC Excess Casualty

Hiring Objective

We are looking for an experienced leader to be part of a newly created team at Tokio Marine HCC with the responsibility to develop, manage and maintain a multifaceted operational platform for the Excess Casualty Group focusing on predominantly risk management accounts. The candidate will be part of a of collaborative risk-taking unit, where each member will be encouraged to offer their own opinions and perspectives to assist in building out a robust casualty organization. Regular engagement with underwriting, claims, actuarial, as well as leveraging other internal functions and resources, will be required to ensure that all dimensions of the organization are taken into consideration as capabilities are

What you can expect in the role:

Working with the product line President you assist and coordinate the continuing buildout in critical areas of operation:

The creation of a front-end underwriting interface from the existing Infinity platform to be utilized for:

Documentation and summation of key risk exposures and metrics

Record treaty and reinsurance parameters and carriers

Integration of an Excell based pricing model

Production and formatting of transactional documentation (Quote/Bind/Bill)

Compliant policy issuance for both admitted and non-admitted casualty products.

Individual and Portfolio KPI reporting and automated analytics

Broker billing

Establish, workflows and reporting parameters for a Bermuda or Cayman based Punitive wrap facility.

Transactional documents

Direct billing procedures (in coordination with Bermuda brokerage market)

Policy issuance  

Coordinate with State filing department on 50 state form and endorsement filings

TMHCC proprietary forms

Broker create casualty coverages

Work with the Casualty claim teams to establish a formal feedback loop process focusing on

TMHCC claim results and claim observations of the casualty marketplace

Bad Actor’ insured alerts

Underlying carrier competency

Broad changes in plaintiff legal strategy

Efficacy of existing outside counsel

Significant Legislative changes (in conjunction with TMHCC legal)

Present updates and observations as needed to:

Excess Casualty Underwriting Team

TMHCC Senior Leadership team

Targeted brokers and clients

Supporting reinsurers

Share best practices with other casualty units as appropriate.

Exposure reporting

Filed forms

Front end /Infinity upgrades

Coordinate with Senior leaders in various functions in Houston and local offices as needed

Financial reporting

Actuarial

Operations / systems 

Education and Experience

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience

7 Years relevant and progressive professional experience

Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures

Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Knowledgeable of industry practices, legal /compliance requirements, and technical developments related to operational elements of the product line to proactively respond to changing business environment.

Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).

Ability to manage projects within scheduled time frames, coordinate with various disciplines within the organization to get tasks completed
