Kroll’s Portfolio Valuation practice is the leading provider of valuation advisory services to the alternative investment industry and we count many of the world’s leading alternative asset managers as our clients. We serve our clients through our global platform and specialize in valuing illiquid and difficult to value investments where no “active quotes” are available. We cover the full breadth of alternative asset strategies including private equity, hedge, credit, venture capital and infrastructure. As part of the team, your role will be an internal-facing roll that will help our client-facing professionals develop solutions that empower us to better serve our clients in a rapidly evolving market.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Designing, building and optimizing data pipelines using Python and SQL to power financial models and Power BI reports related to the valuation of illiquid assets across a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies. Developing solutions and executing on the data-related integration efforts for the Portfolio Valuation team as it pertains to incorporating Kroll’s internally developed proprietary software platform into the valuation workflow. Ensure data quality, reliability and performance throughout the pipelines to assist the valuation professionals in performing valuation analysis Collaborate with business leadership and other technical team members to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions that enhance the long-term data strategy, aligning it with business objectives. Proactively stay informed of industry’s best practices and emerging tools through ongoing education and professional development.
Essential Traits:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or a related field. Minimum 4 years of experience creating and improving advanced data models in Power BI. Proven expertise in Excel modeling with a strong foundation in VBA, SQL, and/or Python. Familiarity with Databricks and/or Azure and the ability to integrate data from these platforms into Excel is preferred. A track record in creating data visualization solutions in Excel and Power BI is preferred. Experience utilizing Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, and other advanced tools to optimize modeling techniques, outputs and workflows, is preferred. Knowledge of accounting concepts and alternative assets, including but not limited to private equity and/or private credit, is preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Strong communication skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. A passion for learning and evidence of self-directed learning on technical subjects.

The current salary range for this position is $90,000 to $200,000
